A talisman for the traveler: how this collection came to life, and why this feels like the perfect moment to share it…
This holiday season feels especially meaningful for me because last week I returned from St. Kitts after attending a press trip to celebrate the collaboration that launched in September. I have not shared this yet, but the timing now feels perfect. We were surrounded by the most magical group of humans. There was this rare, instant connection among us that made the island feel even more alive. It felt like the universe opening a door and letting us step right into the heart of the story we began telling months ago.

That story began long before bluboho and long before I ever set foot on the island.
When I was twelve, I boarded a train alone to visit my grandparents across the country. Before I left, my mom tucked a tiny St. Christopher charm into my hand. It was not just jewelry. It was love I could hold, a promise of protection and a compass for the unknown. At sixteen she did it again. Over and over, through the seasons of my life, she would ask me the same question. Do you have your St. Christopher charm. It became my talisman. A thread of safety and courage I carried everywhere.
So when we were approached about collaborating with St. Kitts, I hesitated. I had never been there and I wondered how I could tell its story truthfully. Then I learned that St. Kitts is short for St. Christopher, the patron saint of travelers. It stopped me in my tracks. It felt like the universe leaning in and whispering pay attention. What had been woven quietly through my own life was also written directly into the identity of this island.
When I visited last spring, everything made sense. St. Kitts is raw and refined, shaped by fire and sea. The mountains rise like guardians. The coastline holds both wildness and welcome. The people are warm, proud and deeply rooted. St. Kitts is not the loudest island in the Caribbean. It is quiet and humble, and that is its beauty.
And in so many ways, that is bluboho too. We are small by design. We treasure intimacy. We care for the earth. We place meaning above magnitude. Our strength comes from intention, warmth and the stories we carry. Our stories and the island’s stories felt intertwined the moment we arrived. It felt like kismet.

When we returned home, we dreamed up many concepts. But when we presented them to the St. Kitts team, the choice was unanimous. A St. Christopher charm. It felt as though the story had already chosen itself. Jewelry is not just adornment. It is intimate and meaningful. It marks the moments of our lives. It is carried from one generation to the next and holds memory the way a heart holds breath. This collaboration carries that same spirit. The protection of St. Christopher, the soul of St. Kitts and the belief that what we hold close can guide us through every journey.
The collaboration became a circle completed. A bridge between a childhood talisman and an island sanctuary. A reminder that we are all travelers guided by something greater than chance.
And then last week, as we returned to St. Kitts for the press trip, it felt like the story opened again in the most beautiful way. Being there with people who instantly felt like soul family, feeling the island wrap around us with warmth and magic, watching the charm live in the place that inspired it, everything suddenly felt whole.
Now, with the holidays approaching, I keep thinking about how this charm was born from protection, connection and the spirit of adventure. It feels like the perfect gift for the globetrotter. It is light enough to slip into any journey and powerful enough to become a ritual. It is a way of saying you are loved, you are held and you are free to explore.
For the one who chases sunsets. For the one who feels most alive discovering new places. For the minimalist, the romantic, the wanderer and the collector of stories. For the traveler who listens for the next place the world calls them.
My hope is that this collection carries the island’s magic far beyond its shores. May it travel close to the heart and guide every path ahead.
Safe travels, wild heart,
Maggie
